Non-restricted (long gun) License Courses and Exams

The 8 hour Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) is for target shooters, hunters, or collectors that want to acquire non restricted firearms such as sporting rifles, and shotguns. The CFSC concludes with a written and practical exam. Successful candidates can then apply for a Possession Acquisition License (PAL). Course manuals are provided for each student.

Non-restricted (long gun) License Courses and Exams

  The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course is for target shooters or collectors that want to acquire restricted firearms such as handguns. Successful candidates can then apply for a Possession Acquisition License (PAL). Candidates taking this course must first successfully complete the CFSC. Course manuals are provided for each student. The written and practical exams are given at the conclusion of the course.

Ontario Hunter Education Course and Exams

The Hunters Education Course is for individuals that are interested in obtaining a hunting license to hunt in Ontario. This is a 10 hour course on safe hunting procedures and wildlife identification. The written test is provided at the conclusion of the course. The Hunter Apprenticeship Safety Program is for young people 12 years of age or older and who have successfully completed the Ontario Hunter Education Course (OHEC) and exam. The program allows young people to develop their hunting skills while under the direct and immediate supervision of a qualified mentor.

Ontario Hunter Education Course and Exams

The Basic Live Firearms Training Course is for people who have a valid PAL and want to improve their shooting skills. The course familiarizes the candidate with proper firearms shooting fundamentals such as proper grip, sight alignment, trigger control, and follow-through. This training is designed to build confidence and start the candidate off on the "right foot". 

Rifles, shotguns, and handguns are used in this training.
